Frequently Asked Questions
How do we book you for our wedding day?
Good news! Booking us for your wedding day is super simple! Just send us a message using our contact form. After that, if we determine that we’re a good fit for you all it takes to book your date with us is a signed contract and a deposit that goes towards your final payment.
How long have you been photographing weddings?
We’ve been photographing weddings full time since 2010. Over the last 7 years we’ve shot all kinds of different weddings from small backyard get togethers to grand Catholic Church weddings.
How will we receive our images? How long after the wedding will we receive them?
With all our wedding photography collections you will receive your wedding images via a USB drive. With this USB drive you also receive a print release that gives your permission to print your images wherever and however you’d like.
You can expect your USB drive to arrive in the mail up to 8 weeks after your wedding.
What happens if you can’t make it to my wedding?
We always try to be there for your big day. However, if for some reason either of our photographers are unable to make it, we will send a suitable replacement. Fortunately, we’ve gotten to know many other professional photographers over the years and know many that are very similar in our shooting style to step in if the need arises.
How many hours are included in your photography package?
Our recommended package includes 8 hours of photography. We’ve found that is the best amount of time to capture all the special moments that happen during a typical wedding.
If you plan on a smaller, more intimate wedding we do offer coverage by the hour so you can get the perfect amount wedding photography coverage that you need. Please contact us for a full quote.
We’re super nervous in front of the camera. How will you help us feel relaxed?
We totally understand being nervous! We always try to make jokes and make you laugh while we’re taking your photographs. Not only is it just more fun that way, but we get some genuine smiles for your images. If us acting completely silly makes it easier for you, then it’s totally worth it.
Do you take payment plans?
Absolutely! We try to make the process as easy as possible for you both. We’ll gladly work with you to find a payment schedule that works best for you.
How would you describe your style of photography?
We would describe our style as photo journalistic with a strong emphasis on romantic portraiture. That means we like to photograph your wedding day as naturally as possible without getting in the way or interrupting too much. We also love photographing beautiful, romantic portraits of just the two of you on one of your happiest days together.
How many weddings will you be shooting the day of my wedding?
We only book one wedding per day. That way we can give you and your wedding all the attention that it deserves.
What is your policy about wedding guests taking photos?
We do not mind at all if your guests take photos! We’re totally fine with it as long as they do not interfere with us doing our jobs. If you’re worried about having guests with cameras interfere with your ceremony, we recommend having an unplugged ceremony.
Do you work from a shot list? Can we request specific photos?
You may absolutely request specific pictures! Feel free to send us a list or even a link to your Pinterest inspiration board.
We do not work from any specific shot list (unless it one you give to us). We find that each wedding is unique so having a predetermined shot list doesn’t always work. We do however shot with “must have” shots in mind (i.e the couple’s first kiss, the ring shot, The couple’s parents, etc.).
Do you bring your own lighting?
Yes. For receptions we always set up at least one light stand. Depending on the size of your reception room we may set up two.
Will we receive every image you shoot?
During your wedding day we take many shots that we call “test shots”. We often don’t give those to you for a number of different reasons. Also we try to refrain from including too many duplicates of the same shots. Other than that, we include most of the shots we take on your USB drive.
What happens if my images get lost or damaged before you can deliver them to me?
After a wedding, we instantly back up all of our images to 2 separate hard drives. Simultaneously, the images are also being backed up to a separate cloud server. That way even if one of our hard drives is damaged or fails, we always have a back up of your images. At every step of our editing process we make sure that the files are still backed up and safe, just in case.
